BOSTON 2001
Friday, July 27
Before checking out of the hotel on Friday we went for a
walk through the Beacon
Hill area as our morning excercise and procrastinating for the trip back. We
read that Acorn Street was labeled "The Most Photographed Street In America".
So we were off to find Acorn Street in Beacon Hill. With a title like that we
had to check it out.
After finding Acorn Street and taking some pictures we asked a local Bostonian for a good place to have breakfast and we were pointed towards Charles Street to a little restaraunt. We ate breakfast, made our way back to the hotel and were on the road home by mid-morning. We drove West along the Charles River until we turned North to Cambridge and drove past Harvard. We made it to the I-95, and headed North to Kittery, Maine to the Kittery Outlets for some shopping. I bought my first bottle of Margaritaville Tequila at the local liquor store in Kittery, ohhh the memories. After some shopping it was back on the I-95 heading North. The traffic was really heavy, we have video of us driving on the I-95 doing 20-30 MPH for miles at a time because of the heavy traffic. We made it to Bangor and realized that we were probably going to have to drive through the night to get home. We stopped for a late supper and then headed for PEI. I am not a good one to drive through the night but Rhonda was up to the challenge. After Ronda drank 6 coffee's we were on our way home. We pulled in our driveway at 5:30 am Saturday, July 28. It was exactly 72 hours from the time we left until the time we arrived home. I crawled in to bed and an hour and a half later we were back up with the kids.
It was a great trip in a short amount of time. The next getaway will be with the kids. Even though it was only 3 days we missed them and besides Rob and Rhonda are probably getting tired of travelling with us. THE END
