Friday

7beach.JPG (44100 bytes) Friday was a beautiful, sunny, hot day.  We spent the entire day lazing around in the sun, snorkeling off the beach and catching a few snoozes.  It was the first day were we really relaxed on the beach and took it easy.  It had been a fun filled week and it felt good to take it easy for the day, especially since we knew it was our last full day at the Resort.

8rranniv.JPG (14407 bytes) After a great day of kicking back on the beach it was time to celebate our Anniversaries that were behind the idea of the trip to Punta Cana.  Rob and Rhonda had been given a bottle of Champagne from friends to take with them for the occassion.  Before supper we took four glasses, the bottle of Champagne (it had been chilling in the fridge all week) and headed for the beach to celebrate under the stars.   After the Champagne and the Cheers we were off to the Los Pinos to celebrate.

The Los Pinos is an Italian restaurant located on the Garden resort.  It is on the beach like the Coral Grill.  It has a very nice tropical atmosphere.  We love Italian food and we were all looking forward to this.  All the restaurants we had eaten at so far had been excellent.  Unfortunately, we were all disappointed with the Los Pinos.  I've read others on the net who loved the food here so I guess it's personal likes and dislikes.  We found the food a little bland for Italian, but we were able to enjoy ourselves and have a good supper.

After supper we were off to the Tropicalismo Show at the Casino resort.   It is a big Vegas style show with a Dominican theme.  We made reservations earlier that day for the show.  When you arrive it's a big cavernous room with a balcony around it for a second story.  It has rows of tables lined up in the main room for groups to sit at and party while watching the Show.  That night bus loads of people were coming from other resorts so the place was filled by the time we arrived.  We found seats in the balcony near the back and stayed for most of the Show.  The Show is entertaining but in the balcony the heat and the smoke rises, we decided we would rather be sitting outside enjoying the fresh warm air of the tropics instead.  We walked back to the Beach resort and the entertainment was in full swing on the stage, it turned out to be more entertaining then the Tropicalismo.  The show had dancers, singers and big band musicians.  It was another beautiful night to sit and enjoy the beautiful weather and a great show.
